upgrading Apache and Mysql warning in the WHM
Dedicated Customers: Please do not upgrade Apache/Mysql
Certain options need to be selected and it needs to be done in a precise way. Many users are updating it on their own and Apache is not restarting.
The Apache must be updated to the latest cPanel supported version of Apache/1.3.36
To check if it is already in that version, you can type the following in the shell:
The PHP version should be either 4.4.2 or 5.1.4 depending upon the version you are using.Code:/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -v
you can check the PHP version in the server by typing following in the shell:
Code:/usr/local/bin/php -v
The latest mysql warning is broadcasted to all the cPanel servers through the News update feature of cPanel by them to make all aware of the fact that MySQL version 4.0.x is vulnerable due to security issues.
Client who have already updated to the 4.1.x need not worry about this and can ignore the warning.
If you are not sure about the mysql version of the server, type the following command in the shell:
