Thread: Important update to All
-
Dear Clients,
This is an official notice to inform you of the new upcoming changes on our network. Our network will undergo a full migration from current classes of IP addresses to brand new classes of IP addresses in the next few days. All necessary precautions have been taken to make this migration as quick and smooth as possible. Your full attention and cooperation to this matter will be needed to make downtime, if any, the least possible.
You may ask yourself, why are we changing IP's and do we have to? The reason behind this is that we want to have full control of all our client's ability to assist them in the best way, shape or form. Oue DC have recently acquired a brand new set of 5,000 IP's directly from ARIN.net (American Registry for Internet Numbers). The old IP's, (66.19x.xx.xx), which we have been using are provided to us by our bandwidth providers. The new IP's we are migrating you to are registered and owned by us, directly from ARIN.net. This ensures the maximum security and privacy for all our valued clients like you. This IP change is mandatory and we sincerely apologize as it may cause some inconveniences to some of you. We are ready to do what it takes to make this as smooth as possible.
Below is an outline of how these changes will affect your server, the steps involved to complete this process, and what you will need to do from your end to ensure the least downtime possible.
THIS IS WHAT ALREADY HAS BEEN DONE:
Your server still has the same IP addresses you have been using. In addition, your server has been added four (4) additional IP addresses. Thus, your server now has both new and old IP addresses. These new IP addresses are the ones that your server will keep and permanently be changed to.
THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Within the next 24 hours from the receipt of a notice, (Date), please take the time to update the IP addresses of your DNS your server uses to the new DNS IP addresses listed in the previous step. You will need to do this at your domain name registrar where you have the domain name you are using with the server registered (e.g.
Godaddy.com, Register.com). It will require 24-48 hours for this update to resolve worldwide. However, you should expect NO downtime during this update as your server's DNS simultaneously changes from old IP address to new IP address, where both of these are already on the server.
THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT:
In three days (72 hours), all of your old IP address will be removed from your server and will no longer be active on our network. Hence, during these three days it is very important that you complete the necessary update outlined in the pervious step.
Your cooperation is appreciated as it helps us bring you the highest level of unninterrupted service possible during the migration period. Thank you for the prompt
attention.
Administrative Team,
Ahosting.biz
