The cPanel has issued following advisary of the ProFTP users.


At this time, it is recommended that all customers using proftpd Switch to pure-ftpd as soon as possible to eliminate a potential security hole. Please note that all released versions of proftpd are belived to be affected and the exact problem is not yet known. Customers who experience the problems switching are welcomed to bypass the normal support procedure and submit a ticket directly at http://support.cpanel.net
All the cPanel/WHM Dedicated Server owners are advised to switch to Pure-FTP as soon as possible.

To do this, you need to do the following steps:

1. login to the WHM as a root.
2. Go to Service Configuration
3. Click on FTP Configuration
4. As the right window changes , you will see the name of your current installed FTP servers under "Installed Ftp Server".
5. If you see that you are running Pro-FTP, then click on Switch to Pure-FTPd

Note:
If you are already running Pure-Ftpd, please do not make any changes.
Resellers in the Shared servers are safe as we have already switched to Pure-FTPd.

If you are not sure, feel free to open a support ticket at http://www.ahosting.biz/support with your servers main ip and root password.
